Introducing Rebecca Van Asch
Rebecca Van Asch will line up for her tenth Australian Sides Championships next week at South Burnie when she skips the States youngest ever rink and plays the singles role in the Super Sixers. She has almost grown up in front of our eyes since she made her debut in 2005 as a fresh faced teenager. This is the first time Bec will compete under her married name, as most of the Tasmanian bowls world would know her under her maiden name of Quail. Having won numerous State Titles including 4 Open Singles crowns and 2 Champion of Champions Singles Titles, she is our most capped woman in this years team, having played for Tasmania on 119 occasions at the age of 26. Quailey came through the junior ranks playing for Tasmania where she won dual National Titles and represented Australia in the Junior and Under 25’s before taking the next step into the Australian Open Team. Since her debut for Australia in 2011 she has donned the green and gold on 99 occasions and has won several international medals, including a career best World Pairs Title with Kelsey Cottrell. Bec is the most capped Tasmanian International and our only player to have claimed the pinnacle of a World Title.
